Assignment by 3/20

  a. Will be performed in class next week, on 3/20 
  b. Should be a Persuasive Speech 
  c. Please pick a controversial topic, which is related to any subject in the textbook. Your topic has to be RELATED TO one of the topics in the textbook. The purpose of presentation is to check how you utilize the vocabulary words, expressions, and other speaking skills we learned throughout the course. Again, it should be a controversial topic with pros and cons. In another words, you can either agree (pros) with the topic or disagree (cons) with the topic.
 d. Once you choose your topic, you can try to position yourself on one side. Make a speech plan to persuade your audience with your position/opinion. Try to include reasonable supporting points with relevant examples. Some examples of desired topics are as follow.

Example A) Is tourism helpful or harmful? (Your main statement should be on one side, such as "I strongly believe that the tourism is helpful for the community.")
Example B) Is prenuptial agreement necessary? (Your statement can be as "I oppose a prenuptial agreement for my own marriage.") 
Example C) Do we need a physical punishment when we raise our kids? (Your main statement can be as "I definately disagree with physical punishment)
Example D) Can government have more impact on reducing global warming than individuals can have? (Your main statement can be as "I agree that government can contribute on reducing global warming more than individuals can."

e. For the format of the presentation, you should include introduction, body (with at least three supportive reasons) and conclusion.
