   (1)Personal Presentation: Story Telling (need to be submitted by email with an audio file by 3/13)                  -Record your voice while reading a story.
-The story should include good portion of dialogues.
-You can feel free to find a kids' story on your own or use the story we read in class. Record should be at least 3 min.

 (2) Personal In class Presentation-Persuasive Speech (will be performed in class on 3/20)
  -Make a persuasive speech with a controversial topic, which is related to any subject in the textbook
  -Once you choose your topic, you can try to have your opinion on one side and try to persuade your audience with your opinion.
  -Try to include reasonable supporting points with relevant examples. Some examples of desired topics are as follow.
  example A) Is tourism helpful or harmful? (Your main statement should be one side such as "I strongly believe that the tourism is helpful for the community.")
  example B) Do we need a physical punishment when we raise our kids? (Your main statement should be like "I definately disagree with physical punishment)
 example C) Is prenuptial agreement necessary? (Your statement can be like "I oppose to make  a prenuptial agreement for my own marriage.")

Group Presentation Guideline

Group Presentation (each group will have 3-4 people)

Creating An Advertisement

You are now producing an ad for a new product and will present it to the company soon. Your presentation includes an introductory speech to the product and a brief note/summary on the ad. The actual performance of the advertisement should be no longer than 1 min and 30 sec. Try to use the vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and attention grabbers that you've learned in Unit 1.

Step 1: Plan the ad
-Choose a product you will be promoting and think of target audience of your ad.
-Decide on the appeal you will use and discuss on how you will get the consumers’ attention.
-Discuss other techniques you can use in the ad (music, catchy slogan, sound effects, funny voices, etc).

Step 2: Write a script and practice the ad.
-Make sure that each group member has equal amount of speaking portion 
-Keep the ad not too long but precise and effective.

Step 3: Do your group presentation in class 2/27/14
